Step 1
Before Your Appointment
- Avoid moderate sun exposure, sunburn and self-tanner for at least 2 weeks.
- Stop retinoids and exfoliating acids (glycolic, salicylic, lactic) 5 to 7 days before.
- Reschedule if you have a cold sore, active breakout or skin infection in the area. Tell us if you get cold sores.
- Let us know if you have taken Accutane (isotretinoin) in the past 6 months.
Step 2
After Your Treatment
- Skip makeup for 24 hours.
- Use a gentle cleanser and the hydrating products we recommend. Avoid retinoids, acids and vitamin C until your skin feels back to normal, usually 3 to 5 days.
- Avoid heat and heavy sweating (workouts, saunas, hot yoga) for 24 to 48 hours.
- Wear SPF 30+ every day and avoid moderate sun exposure while your skin heals.
- Do not pick or scrub any dry or flaky skin.

What’s Normal
- Pink skin like a mild sunburn for 1 to 2 days.
- Tightness and light flaking for a few days.
- Results build over the next 4 to 6 weeks as new collagen forms.
