Questions & Answers

Event Prep FAQs

How far before my wedding should I start skin treatments?

Ideally 6–12 months. That gives time for a laser or microneedling series plus a skincare routine — then you save the final glow treatments for the week of the wedding.

When should I get Botox before my wedding or event?

Never less than 2 weeks before — Botox takes about two weeks to fully set in. For brides, we like about 4 weeks before the wedding so results are settled and there is time for a touch-up if needed.

When should I get filler before an event?

About 4 weeks before for filler or lip filler, so any swelling or bruising has fully settled. If it is your first time, book even earlier so you can see your results.

What is the best facial before a wedding or party?

Our Glass Skin Facial or a Dermaplane Facial 1–3 days before an event leaves skin smooth, glowing and makeup-ready. Avoid trying a brand-new treatment the day before.

Which IV is best before a big event?

An IV hydration drip helps you feel refreshed, NAD+ supports energy, and a glutathione IV offers antioxidant support. Book it 1–3 days before your event so you arrive rested and glowing.

How should moms get ready for a graduation?

Start a laser or microneedling series and a good skincare routine 2–3 months ahead, book filler and Botox about 4 weeks before, a brow wax and tint the week of, and a glow facial with an IV 1–3 days before the ceremony.

What should I do before vacation?

Finish any laser or microneedling at least four weeks before a sunny trip, get a brow wax and tint the week before, and book a facial and an IV two to three days before you leave.

What should I do before family photos?

Book filler and Botox about 4 weeks before so results are settled, a brow wax and tint the week of, and a dermaplane or glow facial 1–3 days before for smooth, makeup-ready skin.

How should I get ready for a class reunion or milestone birthday?

Start a laser or microneedling series 2–3 months ahead, book filler and Botox about 4 weeks before, a brow wax and tint the week of, and a glow facial with an IV 1–3 days before.

Can bridesmaids and the mother of the bride come in too?

Of course. Bridesmaids, moms and the whole wedding party can follow the same timeline. Call our Boyd med spa and we’ll help you schedule everyone before the big day.

Should I try a new treatment right before my wedding?

We don’t recommend it. Try any new injectable, laser or facial well before your event so you know how your skin responds, and keep the final week to treatments you’ve had before.

How do I plan my event prep?

Book a free consultation and bring your event date. Your provider will build a personalized timeline — what to book, in what order and when — so everything is settled and glowing on the day.

Do you help with event prep near Decatur and Fort Worth?

Yes. Our Boyd med spa is minutes from Decatur, Rhome, Bridgeport and Paradise, and an easy drive from Haslet, Justin, Northlake and Saginaw.
