What is Radiesse?

Radiesse is a unique dermal filler made by Merz Aesthetics. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, Radiesse is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a smooth gel carrier. It works in two ways: it immediately adds volume and structure, and over time the CaHA microspheres stimulate your body’s own collagen production. This biostimulatory effect means results can last longer than traditional HA fillers. Radiesse is FDA-approved for hand rejuvenation and correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.

What to expect

Radiesse is injected using a fine needle or cannula. Treatment takes 30 to 45 minutes. Results are immediate and continue to improve over several months as collagen production is stimulated. Because Radiesse is not a hyaluronic acid filler, it cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase — this makes a thorough consultation and conservative approach especially important. Some swelling and bruising is normal and typically resolves within a few days to a week.
