Pre and Post Laser Care

Pre laser care

We are looking forward to your upcoming visit at LEMON + LEIGH.  Please review our procedures for your upcoming treatment 

  • Avoiding moderate sun exposure before treatment (may help prevent post treatment complications)
  • Suspend the administration of Accutane at least 2 months before the treatment
  • Avoid Retin-A to treatment area a week prior to treatment. 
  • For Laser Hair Removal - Do not remove the hair from the follicle prior to treatments (i.e. no waxing, tweezers, electric epilators) or bleaching hair for at least 2 weeks (better if 1 month) before the first treatment Light sensitivity to treatment wavelengths 
  • Please contact us if any of the following applies
  • If currently taking antibiotic or have taken in the last 2 weeks
  • Pregnant or Breastfeeding 
  • Scar disorders (keloid, hypertrophic, etc.)
  • Active infections or cold sores

Post laser care 

  • Avoid sun exposure, intense sweating or exercising for 24- 48 hours   
  • Stay hydrated! Helps improve your results
  • Use sun block – SPF 50 or greater
  • Repeat treatment once per month until desired results are achieved

15-60 min depending on the area.

When will I see my results?

Most clients see maximum results after 6 to 8 treatments; however, we encourage clients to have a number of treatments that suite their own desired results.

What should I know prior to treatment?

  • NO waxing or tweezing at least 3 weeks prior to treatment
  • Patients should shave the day of treatment
  • No lotions or products present on skin
  • No sun exposure 2-4 weeks prior to treatment
  • Avoid Retinols, AHA, and other exfoliants 5 days prior to treatments
